The title references both the French city where it was recorded and the Ramones039 1978 album Road to Ruin. This album marked a more reflective phase for the band, featuring longer, more orchestral compositions.It garnered critical acclaim, receiving 4 and 5star reviews from publications like The Guardian, Mojo, and Uncut. The album includes the singles Low C, Fin and fan favourite St Petersburg, a captivating and beautiful track with a hint of John Lennon039s influence. Arguably their most personal album, it represented a departure from Supergrass039s signature upbeat sound. This new, mellow, and introspective direction made the entire album a critical success.In celebration of its 20th anniversary, we are reissuing an expanded edition of Road to Rouen featuring previously unheard live and studio recordings. The album has been fully remastered for 2025.
