Make sure the surface is clean and clear of dust, loose particles, and any residue. Wipe it down with white spirit and a damp cloth, or use a wire brush if necessary. Shake the can well for at least 30 seconds. Spray lightly from a distance of 15 to 25 cm. Apply 2-3 coats to achieve total and even coverage.
