What we think: The Vango F10 Ultra 5.5 Sleeping Mat strikes an excellent balance between warmth, comfort and lighweight packability, coming in at just 568g with an impressive R-value of 5.5. Positioned at the colder end of three-season use, it offers enough insulation for lower temperatures without the added bulk of a dedicated winter mat. With a supportive 9cm thickness and welded baffle construction, the mat creates a stable, quilted sleeping surface that adapts well as you move during the night. The quilt-like channels are particularly comfortable for side sleepers, helping to maintain support and comfort in changing positions. Although the shape tapers slightly towards the foot, it retains a generous and usable sleeping area compared to many mummy-shaped mats. The oversized baffles are focused around the core area where support matters most, while the 60cm width provides noticeably more room to move and settle comfortably. The integrated pump system is a practical idea, with the stuff sack doubling as an inflation bag. However, in use it can be a little fiddly due to the limited air volume it captures.
