Spencer-type Sweet Pea 'Platinum Jubilee' produces pale blue-striped blooms on a white ground with a delicate citrus-tinged fragrance and flowers abundantly from May to August. Ideal for borders, containers and cut arrangements, plants reach about 180cm; sow seeds indoors Oct-Nov or late Jan-Apr, soften or nick seeds to aid germination, then transplant seedlings about 25cm apart to a sunny, sheltered spot with moist, well-draining fertile soil and provide supports. Pinch shoots at around 10cm to encourage bushy growth, water during dry spells, feed with a potassium-rich liquid fertiliser and dead-head regularly to prolong flowering.
