Polystichum 'Tsussimense'

Finely textured evergreen fronds give this fern year-round appeal. Often known as the Korean Rock Fern, ?Tsussimense? forms elegant arching clumps of dark green foliage with a soft, slightly glossy finish, adding textural interest to shaded planting schemes. Compact and beautifully detailed, it works brilliantly in woodland borders, containers and as underplanting, its feathery foliage contrasting beautifully with larger leaved companions such as hostas. The evergreen fronds provide lasting structure and cover right through winter, making it an invaluable foliage plant for smaller spaces. In spring the older foliage can be cut back, allowing fresh young foliage to replace it. RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit.
