Visit Amsterdam Countryside with windmills by bike

Wet meadows that lie just above, or even below, the water table. A paradise for meadow birds. A farm landscape with long ditches, pollard-willows and cows, turning mills and swaying reed beds. You cycle in a small group on the dikes and look almost beyond the horizon. Welcome to Old Holland's countryside and the oldest industrial area in the Netherlands.This is the place where hundreds of windmills once stood, now only a few remain and you will visit one (outside the touristic area) to see how it is done. You will make a stop at the Old Dutch village "Zaanse Schans" with a cheese tasting and clog making.
