Covering a useful range for photographing wildlife and sports subjects, the 100-400mm-equivalent zoom range is backed by a fast constant f/2.8 maximum aperture for tremendous versatility in a variety of shooting conditions. Especially quick and responsive autofocus system suits working with quick-moving subjects and distant targets, including birds, wildlife, and sports scenes.
Despite its association with distant subjects, this 50-200mm lens also excels with close-up scenes thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 2.6' throughout the entire zoom range. A removable, rotating tripod adapter in included to facilitate easier and balanced attachment to a tripod or monopod. The foot has a Arca-style dovetail along with a bottom 1/4"-20 tripod mount.
