Alexis describes her signature sound as uplifting melancholy, citing Sam Fender, Kate Bush amp Lady Gaga as her diverse musical influences. She039s written and produced some of the tracks on Swim by herself and cowritten the rest with producer duo Shadowhands aka former Infadels frontman Bnann and Gareth Young, GrammyAward winning Stereophonics producer Jim Lowe and Lady Gaga collaborator, Jonas Westling. Additional production comes from Welsh popstar, Bright Light Bright Light. Swim features the singles, Karma, feisty banger, If You Think Im Too Much You Should Go Find Less and title track, Swim, about Alexiss mums struggle with Alzheimers forming part of an ongoing collaboration with Alzheimers Society, as well as new single, Everybody, an anthem for single people everywhere in which Alexis admits, everybodys got somebody but me. Standout tracks are Like The Other Girls a Gigi Perezinspired, largely acoustic song about being an outsider in a world full of Insta filters and the ballad, When The Good Goes Bad soundtracking the end of a relationship. Alexis has never sung her heart out like this before and her voice is rich, mature and heartfelt.
