In watchmaking history, a significant advancement occurred following a tragic train collision in 1891, caused by a malfunctioning watch belonging to one of the train engineers. In response, Webb C. Ball was appointed to establish stringent performance standards for all railroad watches, ensuring greater precision and safety in train operations. His system has directly influenced watchmaking standards to this day. In his honour, the Engineer M Marvelight features our first chronometer movement. To ensure maximum legibility on the railroad, the dial’s hour batons are equipped with micro gas tubes for revolutionary luminosity. The reverse side displays the RR logo, paying homage to the Official Railroad Standard created by Webb C. Ball.
