Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the heart of Portugal's Douro Valley, Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo has been owned by the Amorim family since 1999, but its history goes much further back. The first owners were members of the Portuguese Royal House until 1725, followed by various families who, over the centuries, have maintained the historic buildings and continued the winemaking business. Grainha Reserva Branco is a blend of local Rabigato, Viosinho, and Gouveio grapes, hand-picked from vineyards located in the Douro highlands on granite soils. After harvesting and vinification, the finished wine ages in a mix of used French and Hungarian oak and cement for 7 months before bottling. The result is a well-structured and elegant wine with a broad and lively aromatic profile. The nose reveals notes of melon, Granny Smith apple, and ripe stone fruit intertwined with delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is round, generous, and complex, with good fruit concentration and bright acidity. It is lean and linear, juicy and smooth, with a long, refreshing finish. Try it with roasted white fish, pad thai, and scallop risotto.
