Toyobo Printight Photopolymer Solar Plates Are Steel-backed Photopolymer Plates Designed To Be Developed In Water Without The Use Of Any Harmful Chemicals. Photographic Intaglio Plates Can Be Produced With A Controllable UV Source Although The Toyobo Plates Can Also Be Exposed To Direct Sunlight. After Exposure, Water Is Used To Wash Away The Unexposed Areas Of Polymer To Create Your Plate. Available In Two Thicknesses; The 0.73mm Is Suitable For All Intaglio Requirements. A Positive Transparency, Whether Photographic Or Hand-drawn On Film Is Used For Intaglio, Where The Unexposed Polymer Will Wash Away And Form Your Intaglio Areas. To Achieve Grey Scale On Photographic Images You Will Also Need A Dot Screen Or Random Dot Aquatint Screen To Expose Separately Before You Expose Your Image. It Is Also Possible To Draw Into The Surface Of The Plate And Add Drypoint To Your Image. The Thicker 0.95mm Plate Is Good For Relief And Letterpress, In Which Case You Require A Negative Transparency, As The Unexposed (black) Areas Will Wash Away And Not Be Printable.
