Product Description
Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant before serving. Domaine Marc Colin et Fils can be found deep within Burgundy’s vineyard-dotted landscape, in the beautiful appellation of Côte de Beaune. It is a family endeavour, founded by Marc Colin in the 1970s and continued by Caroline and Damien, his two children. From a modest yet focused collection of 12 hectares of vineyards, the estate produces a fabulous range of terroir-driven wines. For a long time, Chassagne-Montrachet has held a reputation as one of the world’s best white wines, and this example from Marc Colin is no exception. This is a stunning blend of the appellation’s most exceptional plots, made from 100% Chardonnay. It offers a precise nose with citrus aromas of lemon zest and orange, along with hints of verdant herbal tea and chalk. In the glass, the wine appears an attractive light gold. It is medium-bodied, with a velvet smooth mouthfeel and a considerable backbone of acidity, making it a great wine to enjoy with food. On the palate, you’ll find flavours of tangerine and a deep well of stone fruit. On the lingering, dry finish, a pleasant touch of salinity appears. Consider pairing it with some delicate shellfish dishes, trout almondine, or soft, triple-cream cheeses.
