Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Upsidedown is a family-owned winery founded in 2015 in Washington State. Production is limited and focuses primarily on Rhône varietals, with a keen eye on the highest quality to create premium wines that best express the terroir of this surprising wine region. The cellar work, under the guidance of Seth Kitzke, carries on this philosophy, with minimal intervention and the use of indigenous yeasts. Method Red is an unusual wine for Washington State, a Super Tuscan-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, and Malbec. The production of this wine is actually linked to the charitable activities and support of several nonprofit organizations by Upsidedown founders Seth and Audrey Kitzke. In the glass, Method Red reveals a dense, deep color with dark red hues. Its aromatic profile is intense and layered, with initial notes of blackberry, black cherry, and dried strawberry, followed by hay and smoky notes, with a touch of pepper in the background. On the palate, it is full-bodied, flavorful, and powerful, with firm, ripe tannins and a fresh acidity that balances the fruity intensity. The finish is long and elegant. It is a food-friendly wine. It pairs well with grilled meats, beef brisket, aged cheeses, and red meat stews.
