Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded by Olaf Malver and Eka Tchvritidze in 2013, Danieli Winery is a small family-run business located in Argokhi village in the north-eastern part of the Kakheti wine region of Georgia. The company grows its vines organically and applies a modern European-style approach in the cellar while honoring Georgia's ancient winemaking traditions and techniques. The Saperavi grapes for this wine come from some of the highest vineyards on the estate, located at 6-700 meters above sea level. Here the cool microclimate and the particular terroir with alluvial/sandy soils favor the production of wines with marked acidity and a strong aromatic character. The harvest is manual and the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel. After 4 months of cold stabilization, the wine is bottled with minimal filtration. The Mountain Saperavi from the Danieli winery has an intense and brilliant red color. On the nose, it reveals a rich and fruity aromatic profile with notes of dark fruits, cherry, and blueberry. On the palate, it is full and velvety with a good acidity and soft, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent. Try it with grilled red meat.
