Albert Grivault Meursault Premier Cru Perrieres 2022

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. No need to decant, but best to open it an hour before service. Located in Meursault, Domaine Albert Grivault is one of Burgundy's historic estates. Founded in 1897, the winery has been passed down from father to son for four generations, overcoming crises and wars and maintaining an essential bond with the land, respect for the terroir, and a deep love of wine. The Chardonnay grapes come from a plot of less than one hectare, located in the middle of the prestigious Premier Cru Les Perrieres. Here, the vines, over fifty years old, are rooted in marly clay soil with many pebbles (hence the name of the Cru, since in French, “perrier” means gravel path). In the glass, the wine displays a straw yellow color with bright highlights. On the nose, it reveals a broad and fragrant aromatic profile with notes of white flowers, apricot, peach, candied citrus, and tropical fruit on a mineral undertone. On the palate, it is soft and creamy, rich, and balanced. It has lively acidity and a pronounced minerality that lingers into the long finish. It is an extremely elegant wine, capable of aging beautifully. Leave it in the cellar for a few years, or if you can't resist, serve it with shellfish in sauce or truffle risotto.
