Johnnie Walker Double Black is an interesting twist on the classic Black Label. Rolled out for general release in 2011, it adds more Islay whisky and heavily charred casks to the normal profile, giving a more intense flavour with a greater emphasis on smoke. The nose is fairly light and oily, with dry oak, honey and gently stony smoke. The palate is fuller bodied, moving from sweet smoke and floral honey to cracked stone, tar and old bonfires. The finish is soft and smoky with woody spice and charred oak. This blended whisky is from Scotland and has a 40% ABV. It's suitable for both men and women.
