Château de Sales 2014/17, Pomerol

Château de Sales is the largest estate in the Pomerol appellation and has been in the hands of the same family since 1464. Expertise has been passed down through the generations for over 500 years. So it's fair to say they know a thing or two about creating great claret. This Merlot-dominant blend is their top wine, or ‘Grand Vin’. It spends up to 18 months ageing in French oak barrels to add plenty of complexity. You can expect a plush wine with bright notes of redcurrant and raspberry, silky tannins and a long finish. It’s drinking brilliantly now so enjoy it with herb-crusted rack of lamb.
