Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Located in Saumur in the Loire Valley, France, Langlois is a winery with a long tradition. Formally founded as Langlois-Chateau in 1912 by Edouard Langlois and Jeanne Chateau, its origins actually date back to 1885 when the estate was known as Maison Delandes. Today, the company produces excellent Loire wines, both sparkling and still, but is particularly famous for its elegant Cremants de Loire. The Brut Reserve is a blend of over 50% Chenin Blanc (which gives the wine its distinctive character), Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc, which add structure and complexity. The grapes come from numerous estate plots spread across various appellations of the Loire Valley, creating a mix of terroirs that reflects the diversity of the terroir. After vinification and the addition of 10% reserve wine, the wine ages on the lees for 2 years. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant, light golden color enhanced by a fine perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad, with notes of white fruit, lime blossom, and hawthorn, followed by mineral notes. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant, and velvety, with a lively acidity and mineral notes that linger on the persistent finish. It is perfect as an aperitif with fish and vegetable appetizers, or with sushi and fish carpaccio.
