Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the Burgundy village from which it takes its name, Chateau de Marsannay belongs to the Halley family who acquired it in 2012. The estate owns approximately 40 hectares of land in the best 1er Crus and Grand Crus appellations of the Cote de Nuits and manages the vineyards of the Dijon hospice. The work in the vineyards and in the cellar is precise and meticulous: the grapes are worked separately by parcel in order to guarantee the maximum expression of the various terroirs of the Cote de Nuits. Chateau de Marsannay Rouge is produced with Pinot Noir grapes selected from different plots located at the foot or sides of the hills, with east/southeast exposure, on clay-limestone soils. After cold maceration and alcoholic fermentation, the finished wine is aged in oak barrels for approximately 12 months. The wine has a clear color with bright ruby tones. On the nose, it reveals an elegant aromatic profile with notes of ripe raspberries and cherries and some light hints of undergrowth. On the palate, it is rich and lively with ripe and velvety tannins. The finish is long, persistent, and with a light touch of sapidity. Try it with duck breast or pork filet with mushrooms.
