This Becker 2017 Heydenreich Spätburgunder Grand Cru dry is a wine from the Winebuyers brand. It's a 75cl Pinot Noir with intense and dense ruby red color, featuring wonderful scents of blackberries, cherries, and pipe tobacco. The wine is made from grapes carefully selected by hand, de-stemmed, and fermented on the mash in open oak vats for three weeks. It's then gently pressed and matured for 18 months in small oak barrels without filtration or fining. The result is a tight, long, spicy, cedary wine with deep coffee-bean bitterness and deep-coal-mine minerality, featuring sawdust dry tannins and a fantastic texture. The wine is from the VDP.Grosse Gewächs 'Sankt Paul' vineyard, located in the south above the location, with soil based on a large limestone rock and a very low circulation of clayey loamy topsoil.
