Domaine Mabileau Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil comes from a family-run vineyard. The winemaker, Laurent Mabileau, has been producing wines since 1985, and this wine displays his experience and expertise. Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil is situated on the right bank of the Loire Valley, which is famous for its white wines, but some fantastic red wines can also be found here. The grapes slowly ripen in the cooler vineyards, offering a good level of natural acidity. The winemaker uses Loire-influenced methods for the vinification, with a gentle extraction. Domaine Mabileau Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil has a cherry red colour, with intense dark cherry and redberry fruit on the nose. The palate is rich and round, with notes of red summer fruits such as raspberry, as well as darker berried fruit. Well-integrated oak and silky tannins add to the structure, lending a spiciness to the long finish.
