Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour and half. Founded in 1879 by Ioannis Boutari in Naoussa, Boutari is one of the oldest wineries in Greece. Since then, the company has expanded its operations, starting with the construction of its first private winery in the early 1900s and then with other locations in Santorini, Naoussa, Goumenissa, Mantinia, Attica, and Crete in the following years. Today, Boutari Wineries is part of the Sterner Stenhus Greece group and continues to produce its iconic wines. Xinomavro grapes are selected and harvested from plots located in Trilofos. The vinification takes place separately in batches, in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The finished wines are then aged separately in French oak barrels for 2 years, before blending and bottling. Boutari Grande Reserve Naoussa has an intense and dark color with brick red tones. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant with fruity notes of cherry and blackberry followed by hints of tomato, Mediterranean herbs, and some woody nuances. On the palate, it is rich and generous with a well-integrated tannic backbone and a good concentration of fruit. It has a full body and a well-balanced acidity. It pairs deliciously with grilled pork and spit-roasted Porchetta.
