Kistler Les Noisetiers Chardonnay 2023

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant. Founded by Steve Kistler in 1978, Kistler Vineyards is a family business located in Northern California. This is a relatively small producer that has been known since the 1980s for its robust, buttery Chardonnays that undergo malolactic fermentation and are aged in small new oak barrels. The winery focuses on Burgundy varietals and produces 11 Chardonnays and 4 Pinot Noirs. The grapes are selected from three AVAs within Sonoma County: Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Mountain, and Carneros. Kistler's Les Noisetiers is a Chardonnay wine with a very strong regional character that denotes the typical mineral tones deriving from the sandy soils of Gold Ridge. The grapes come from the Vine Hill Vineyard, Dutton Ranch, and Trenton Roadhouse vineyards. The result is a wine with intense and brilliant color. On the nose, it reveals a large concentration of stone and citrus fruits and notes of white flowers. It is a vibrant and juicy wine with a marked mineral vein. On the palate, it is loaded with fresh fruit: pineapple, peach, apricot, and pear. Fresh and full-bodied, it makes a perfect aperitif but also goes very well with lobster, prawns, and stuffed chicken breast.
