Ormarine 'Cuvée Estela Élevée sur Lies Fines' Picpoul de Pinet 2023/24

Ormarine’s story began in 1922 when winegrowers from Pinet gathered to form a winegrowers’ association. Fast forward to today, and Ormarine is the leading brand of the Picpoul de Pinet appellation. Located in the heart of the small village of Pinet, the home of the Piquepoul Blanc grape variety, they produce more than 40% of the appellation’s wines. Leading the team is Cyril Payon, former president of the Oenologists of France. And he’s taken this wine to the next level. Like Muscadet Sur Lie, Picpoul Sur Lie is Picpoul aged on its spent yeast cells, or ‘lees’. This creates complex flavours and texture, whilst retaining the ever-popular flavours Picpoul is loved for. Expect aromas of acacia and hawthorn with flavours of nectarine and citrus. Its fresh acidity makes it a great choice for seafood.
