Product Description
If you like Bordeaux-style wines, then give this rich and elegant red blend a try. It's from a region just 100km from Bordeaux, the Bergerac area, located in the southwest of France, which is renowned for producing elegant and expressive red wines. Covering approximately 5,000 hectares of vineyards, the appellation stretches across the rolling hills of the Dordogne valley, where a temperate climate and varied soils enhance the quality and diversity of the wines. Château Mayat is a family-run winery, now in its 4th generation, with Francis Lagarde and his daughter Emeline, at the helm since 2019. Many of the vines are located on the Fougueyrolles plateau, overlooking the Dordogne valley. The vines used for this particular wine are around 30 years old, and are carefully vinified to create an elegant blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Its delicate ripe black fruit, with a touch of toasted spices and cocoa, make it the perfect wine to pair with grilled meats and vegetable terrines.
