ABOUT THE WINE. From limestone-rich slopes on the right bank of the Loire, Deloire Pouilly-Fumé 2024 captures the appellation’s hallmark pierre à fusil (flinty) character. South-west exposures ensure ripe Sauvignon Blanc, while Atlantic breezes channel freshness and the classic smoky-mineral profile that defines Pouilly-Fumé.. TASTING NOTES – 2024. Pale lemon. Grapefruit, lemon zest and white peach lift from the glass, joined by gooseberry, elderflower and a subtle blackcurrant bud note. The palate is crisp and finely textured, threading juicy citrus with a chalk-saline, flinty line. Long, clean finish with gentle smokiness and mouth-watering acidity.. FOOD PAIRING. Excellent as an apéritif; also superb with white fish, oysters, goat’s cheese, asparagus, sushi and light salads with citrus or herbs.. FRIARWOOD SAYS.
