Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded by Gary Andrus in 1993, Archer Summit is one of the Willamette Valley's leading wineries. Andrus' pioneering work has significantly contributed to making this cool-climate region of Oregon very popular all over the world. Here, the soil and climate conditions provide a natural habitat for grape varietals like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, just like in Burgundy. The winery pursues a philosophy based on sustainability and the use of energy-efficient practices both in the vineyard and cellar. The team is led by winemaker Kim Abrahams. Vireton Pinot Noir is crafted from grapes sourced from multiple vineyards in the Willamette Valley, reflecting the region's diverse nature, its enormous winemaking potential, and remarkable balance. In the glass, the wine reveals a broad and complex aromatic profile with layered notes of blueberry, currant, cherry, and raspberry, with hints of spice and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is generous, elegant, and expressive. It has a light, well-balanced acidity and silky tannins. It is juicy, fresh, and harmonious, with a long, fruity finish and some oaky notes. It is versatile with food: it pairs well with mushroom-based recipes, salmon, and even pork.
