ABOUT THE WINE. Rooted in a heritage dating to the 12th-century monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux, Domaine de la Ferté – now under the Devillard family – farms around 3 hectares devoted exclusively to Pinot Noir in the heart of Givry. The estate’s focus is clarity of terroir and measured élevage. 2021 was a low-yielding, cooler year that demanded meticulous sorting and gentle extraction, delivering wines of finesse, purity and moderate alcohol. Maturation remains traditional – a judicious use of oak and time on lees for texture without excess.. TASTING NOTES. Translucent ruby. Aromas of wild strawberry, redcurrant and cranberry with hints of violet, orange zest and subtle spice. The palate is bright and precise, framed by lively acidity and fine-grained tannins. Crunchy red fruit carries through to a mineral, sapid finish – elegant, poised and very true to the vintage.. FOOD PAIRING.
