Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Specializing in the production of Crémants de Loire (classic method sparkling wines), Langlois is a winery located in Saumur and founded in 1912. Its origins actually date back even further, to 1885, when the estate was founded as Maison Delandes. However, in 1912, it was acquired by Edouard Langlois and Jeanne Chateau, who renamed it Langlois-Chateau. Today, the company owns approximately 95 hectares of certified sustainable vineyards and is part of the Bollinger Group, which acquired a majority stake in the company in the 1970s. Langlois's Cremant de Loire Rose Brut is a blend of mostly Cabernet Franc (with grapes from the clay-limestone soils of Montreuil Bellay and Puy Notre-Dame) and Pinot Noir. After vinification and secondary fermentation in the bottle, the wine rests on the lees for a year and a half. The result is a wine with a distinctive personality and aromatic character, revealing a clear and brilliant pale pink color with subtle copper highlights. On the nose, it displays a fragrant aromatic profile with pleasant notes of vine peach, small red fruits, and flowers. On the palate, it is taut and invigorating, round and fruity, with a pleasant effervescence that adds a creamy touch and a medium-long, fresh finish. It is excellent as an aperitif or paired with fish ceviche and fresh mixed summer salads.
