Chateau La Negly is a renowned winery in Languedoc, located in the heart of the AOP La Clape, about 20 km from Narbonne. Here the vineyards, which extend over about 50 hectares, enjoy exceptional soil and climate conditions thanks to the proximity of the Mediterranean and sandy soils, resulting from very porous calcareous screes that guarantee excellent water reserves for the vines. La Clape La Porte du Ciel wine is a blend of Syrah and Grenache from vineyards located on sandy-clayey soils, which are very stony. After manual harvesting, the wine is made in truncated cone-shaped vats for about 60 days. The finished wine then rests in barrels for 2 years. This powerful and warm red reveals an intense color with bright and dense purple tones. Its aromatic profile is rich with notes of blackberry, cherry and red fruits, cocoa and vanilla and some hints of tobacco leaves. On the palate it is round and deep. It has a velvety texture and a good fruit concentration. It is powerful and intense with a medium-full body and ripe and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and warm. Excellent with hare and pheasant meat.
