Product Description

Discover all the wines from Chateau Figeac. ABOUT THE WINE. Château Figeac, a Premier Grand Cru Classé ‘A’ estate since 2022, is a benchmark property in Saint-Émilion with an identity shaped by its unique gravel-dominant soils and Cabernet-led blend. The 2018 vintage is regarded as one of the most powerful and age-worthy in recent decades. A warm, dry summer delivered intense ripeness, while cool nights preserved freshness. Under the guidance of Frédéric Faye and the Manoncourt family, Figeac has firmly re-established itself as one of the Right Bank’s elite producers.. TASTING NOTES. The 2018 is a deep, brooding wine, with aromas of black cherry, cassis, cigar box, violet and graphite. The palate is dense and structured, with rich layers of blackberry, plum, cocoa and dark spice, framed by firm yet polished tannins. There is energy and precision beneath the power, and the finish is long, mineral and refined. Built to age for decades.. FOOD PAIRING. Excellent with dry-aged ribeye, venison with blackberry jus, or a wild mushroom and truffle risotto. Decant for 2+ hours when drinking young.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. This is Figeac in full stride – bold, complex and incredibly refined. A stellar vintage that cements the estate’s status among Bordeaux’s finest.
