Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Archer Summit Winery was founded in 1993 by Gary Andrus, a renowned winemaker with experience in Napa Valley, to produce quality wines that express the full potential of Oregon viticulture. Here in the Dundee Hills, the volcanic soils and cool, Burgundy-like climate create ideal conditions for varietals like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Sustainable agriculture is practiced in the vineyards, and the approach in the winery promotes energy efficiency. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested from vineyards located in the Red Hills, Renegade Ridge and Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley. After harvest and traditional vinification, the finished wine ages in oak for just under a year. In the glass, the wine reveals a golden color and a broad, fragrant aromatic profile with notes of peach and tropical fruit, pear and citrus, honey and dried fig, and light hints of cashew nuts and dried herbs. On the palate, it is soft and crisp, juicy and mineral, with a fresh fruit concentration and a lively, well-balanced acidity. It has a medium-full body and a long finish that recalls notes of ripe peach. It is a wine capable of aging well for several years, but can be enjoyed now with mac & cheese, grilled salmon, or lobster.
