Domaine Henri Boillot Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrieres 2023

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Domaine Henri Boillot is a renowned family-run winery located in Burgundy, dating back to 1885. The estate, now located in the commune of Meursault, was recently renamed after Henri (third generation of the family) following his acquisition of the land from his siblings. The estate's vineyards span approximately 19 hectares, with a nearly equal split between red and white wines. Four of these 19 hectares comprise the prestigious Clos de la Mouchère Monopole, a fortified parcel located within the Premier Cru Les Perrières of Puligny-Montrachet. This Meursault Premier Cru is an exquisite wine capable of aging beautifully for a couple of decades. It is made with Chardonnay grapes from the Les Genevrières Premier Cru vineyard. After harvest and vinification, the wine ages in barrels (60% new) for approximately 12 months. In the glass, the wine displays a pale golden color and an impressive aromatic bouquet. On the nose, smoky notes are interspersed with fruity aromas of pear and apple, followed by exotic hints of spice, tea, and white flowers. On the palate, it is generous and graceful, rich, round, and perfectly balanced. It has a medium to full body and lively acidity. Despite its complexity, it remains an easy-going wine and it's perfect with tagliolini with truffles, roast chicken with herbs, or veal ossobuco.
