Winemaker Eulogio Calleja crafts wines with great depth. The grapes for this fine wine come from 5 acres of ungrafted bush-vine Verdejo planted on the sandy soils of La Seca. Barrel-fermentation, and 8 months ageing in all new 500 litre, French oak barrels. Intense aromatics of ripe melon and pears balanced by leesy, yeasty notes. The palate is soft and textural with well-integrated, toasty oak characters, kiwi and grapefruit acidity, and impeccable balance. A deliciously bitter twist on the finish maintains the interest right though to the next sip. Pair with white meats such as turkey and chicken, risotto or paella.
