Henschke ‘Mount Edelstone’ Shiraz 2018, Eden Valley

The Henschke family has been crafting exceptional wines in South Australia for over 150 years, making them one of the most celebrated producers in the country. Mount Edelstone is the longest continuously produced single-vineyard Shiraz in Australia, first bottled by Cyril Henschke in 1952. The 16-hectare vineyard was planted in 1912 on ancient clay-loam soils, yielding intensely flavoured grapes from dry-farmed, century-old vines. The Shiraz is hand-harvested, then aged for 20 months in both French and American oak, followed by three years of bottle ageing.
