ABOUT THE WINE. Tenuta Fanti is owned by the Fanti family since the early 18th Century and has always been a reference for the production of wine, extra-virgin olive oil and cereals in the area of Montalcino. Today, thanks to Filippo's forty years of experience as a wine grower and to the energy and determination of Elisa, his daughter who joined the family company in 2007, the reputation of the Fanti brand keeps growing. The eco-friendly solid approach to agriculture and the respect for the soil and the natural cycles allow Tenuta Fanti to offer the day after day top quality products to its consumers. The grapes to make this wine have been carefully selected once ripe but healthy. The bunches are set to dry naturally - for four to six months - in well-aired, dry places, attached to ceiling hooks. Once pressed, the must goes into small oak casks called 'caratelli', filled by 70% of the capacity.. TASTING NOTES. Deep amber colour. The nose is very aromatic with ripe fruit aromas such as dried apricot and raisin, with notes of honey and walnut. The mouth is rich and complex with aromas of dried peach, raisin and caramel balanced with a refreshing finish.. FOOD PAIRING. Works well with cantucci, tarte tatin or sipped on its own.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. Vin Santo with a hint of Madeira-character from the 'canteiro' style of ageing - quite unique, quite marvellous.
