Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Based in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, Quilt is a winery founded by winemaker Joseph Wagner that focuses on the production of wines based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Cab Sav's grapes come from a series of premium Napa Valley vineyards, located predominantly on the valley floor with additions of grapes from the area's higher elevations. The Chardonnay grapes, instead, come mainly from Carneros. The company produces 4 labels: Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Fabric of the Land, a red blend based on Merlot, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, and Petit Verdot, and Chardonnay. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, sourced from multiple vineyards in Oakville, St. Helena, Atlas Peak, Coombsville, Calistoga, and Howell Mountain, are vinified and macerated separately. The wine has a deep color with brick-red tones and plum-colored nuances. The nose reveals intense aromas of crème de cassis, cocoa, blackberry, and cranberry jam, with hints of dark licorice and sweet spices. Also on the palate, the wine is rich, deep, and concentrated with spicy and jammy flavors, velvety tannins, and a full body. The finish is persistent and recalls sweet spices. Perfect with a succulent steak or a hearty lasagna bolognese.
