This Spätburgunder Premier Cru has a stimulating aroma of cassis and fine wood, followed by firm early aromas. In the mouth, you'll find much spice, tea, liquorice and dense berry fruit. The finish is very powerful, concentrated with a Burgundian impression and elegance. The grapes for this wine were grown in the classified VDP.ERSTE LAGE (Premier Cru) Johannisburg vineyard, a site named after St. John, located next to a centuries-old stone path that guides to the Jakobsberg monastery. The loamy limestone soil and warm temperature guarantee concentrated and powerful Pinot Noirs with freshness and excellent ageing potential. The wine was made by selecting grapes by hand and fermenting them on skins with wild yeast. It matured in oak barrels for 18 months, with 30% new oak, and was bottled without filtration. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
