Product Description

This wine is bananas, not just the label. It's fresh, fun and immensely fruity with elderflower, grapefruit and grapey aromas. With a light floral touch and a hint of sweetness, this wine is light and gluggable on a sunny afternoon. It also works well with spicy foods. Morio Muskat is an old, rare variety with no genetic cross-over with Muscat, despite sharing some flavour characteristics. The 'Monkey' name comes from a stuffed toy monkey found near the vines, which became a mascot for the vineyard. The family-owned Hanewald-Schwerdt vineyard was founded in Leistadt, Pfalz, in 1955 and is now managed by cousins Thomas Hanewald and Stephan Schwerdt, members of 'Generation Riesling'. Their focus is on dry wines, primarily made from Riesling and Pinot Noir that express their vintage and vineyard.
