Bodegas Franco-Españolas Varela Rioja Crianza 2018/19

Founded in 1890 in Logroño, Bodegas Franco-Españolas is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Rioja region. They are a family business on its third generation, having been founded when they when the Phylloxera plague was devasting french vineyards at Bordeaux. Their wines have been present in the crowning ceremony of King Juan Carlos I from Spain and the wedding of King Balduino and Queen Fabiola from Belgium. They are specialists in the best quality Classical style for Rioja, with a variety of international awards for their globally recognised wines. This blend with delicious red-fruit and vanilla notes makes for a great pairing with white meats, pasta dishes and fried food.
