Vina Pomal Seleccion 500 2020/21

Based in the town of Haro in the heart of Rioja, Pomal is one of the most famed wineries in Spain, steeped in over 100 years of tradition. Viña Pomal began in 1904 as the flagship label of the iconic Bodegas Bilbaínas winery. Over their long history, they've built up a stellar reputation for authentic, approachable wines that have attracted an impressive list of admirers – reportedly including Sir Winston Churchill. The vineyards benefit from a combination of clay-limestone soils and a unique microclimate, allowing their Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes to thrive. The result is a well-balanced wine with notes of ripe blackberry, liquorice, and a hint of vanilla from oak ageing. Smooth tannins and a lingering finish make it an ideal pairing with roast lamb or aged Manchego cheese.
