Product Description
Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few more years. No need to decant before serving. This Moscato is a delightful frizzante wine, exhibiting a pale yellow colour in the glass. It has a sweet, floral bouquet, with hints of elderflower, acacia and wisteria, supplemented by orchard fruits and honey. The fruits were harvested from the appellation of Asti, in the cool North Italian region of Piedmont. The Ruffino name originates in Tuscany, but over the family’s 150-year history, they have expanded to several other famous regions within Italy. The winery was founded in the city of Pontassieve outside Florence, in the year 1877, by two cousins: Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino. With great success comes great responsibility - in recent years, Ruffino has also received certifications for organic and biodiverse farming. On the palate, this Moscato is sweet, but not too sweet; fizzy, but not too fizzy. It is a wonderfully balanced experience, with clean notes of white peach, orange peel, sage, elderflower and mint. Subtle bubbles bring a mousse-like mouthfeel, while acidity brings a wiry backbone. The finish is long, sweet, and packed with orchard fruits. This is a perfect wine for pairing with spicy curry, spicy sausage, or creamy cheese.
