Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the Spanish wine region of Priorat, in the Gratallops area, Clos Mogador was founded by René Barbier III in 1979, spearheading a true wine renaissance in this once-forgotten region. The Grenache grapes come from a vineyard of approximately 3 hectares in the Montsant D.O., in a mountainous area at approximately 580-600 meters above sea level. Here, the vines, some between 35 and 50 years old, and others over 100 years old, are rooted in red clay and limestone soils. After harvest, fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, and the finished wine ages for a year in large used barrels and for a further eight months in concrete vats. Com Tu is an expressive, characterful, and elegant wine. The nose reveals a complex and broad aromatic profile with notes of red and dark fruits such as currant, blackberry, and cherry, followed by herbaceous and mineral hints and a final touch of licorice. On the palate, it is concentrated and juicy, fresh and crisp with powerful tannins and a long, persistent finish that recalls light mineral and herbaceous notes. Try it with a spicy pork stir-fry, grilled lamb chops, or rabbit cacciatore.
