The Traitor's name is derived from the ancient Chilean legend of Añañuca and honours the love of a young woman tragically betrayed by a miner's quest for treasure. The beautiful Añañuca died of a broken heart, her spirit blossoming into the vibrant red flowers of Chile’s Atacama Desert. After thorough research into Chile's diverse wine regions, Félix Solís chose the Cachapoal Valley in the Central Valley as the base for the Viña Casa Solis winery. This region is renowned for its varied soils and abundant grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere, offering ideal conditions for vinification. This mouth-watering Chilean red is a medley of ripe plum, blackberry and cherry flavours. Rich, satisfying and ridiculously moreish. It goes beautifully with grilled meats, stews and roast vegetables.
