ABOUT THE WINE. Winemaking has been a tradition in the Charmond family since 1950. Today, Philippe Charmond farms 8 ha across the villages of Vergisson, Davayé and Prissé. South-east–facing slopes and limestone soils bring brightness and lift to Chardonnay. This Mâcon-Vergisson 2023 was vinified 70% in stainless steel and 30% in oak barrels to balance purity with subtle texture; annual production is ~3,000 bottles. The warm, even 2023 vintage delivered ripe fruit with vibrant natural freshness.. TASTING NOTES. Lustrous pale gold. A delicate bouquet of white flowers, pear and citrus zest folds into toasted almond and a sea-spray minerality. The palate is ripe yet brisk, with juicy orchard fruit, light creaminess, and a gentle saline snap. Finishes with a whisper of fresh butter and hazelnut, precise and long.. FOOD PAIRING.
