This is Chardonnay at its purest. Chablis is the ultimate expression of unoaked Chardonnay, and few do it better than La Chablisienne. Founded in 1923, this pioneering co-operative has played a major role in putting Chablis on the world stage, and continues to set the standard for the region today. The grapes come from vineyards rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone – fossil-rich soil that, combined with the cool-climate, brings out Chardonnay’s trademark freshness and flinty minerality. Fermented in stainless steel, this is bright, focused and classically Chablis. Expect citrus, green apple and a crisp, saline finish. Perfect with oysters or fresh seafood.
