Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Chateau de Beauregard is a renowned estate in southern Burgundy, located in Fuissé and owned by the Burrier family for 6 generations. The estate, now managed by Frederic Marc Burrier, has approximately 37 hectares of vineyards, including 5 located in Fleurie, one of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais, in the hamlet of Poncie, on steep slopes overlooking the Saône plain. Gamay grapes are hand-harvested from 40-year-old vineyards planted on sandy-looking, rotten rock granite sand soils, and located at an altitude of 300-400 m. After vinification, which takes place in the former Maison Tournissoux in Fleurie, the finished wine ages half in vats and half in barrels. In the glass, Fleurie Poncie reveals a clear and brilliant ruby color. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex with floral notes of iris, violet, and rose petals, followed by fruity aromas and spicy hints in the background. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured, velvety, and full of flavor. The finish is long and recalls gentle spicy notes. It pairs well with roast lamb, bangers and mash, and also with poultry in cream and mushroom sauces.
