Product Description

Enjoy it now or cellar for a few years. No need to decant before serving. Ruffino’s Prosecco Superiore is a luxurious experience, bursting with scents of pure apple, citrus and pear, with a slight floral edge. It was crafted from 100% Glera, and appears a light yellow colour in the glass, with fine and long-lasting bubbles. Crisp yet creamy, it is the perfect choice for any special occasion. In Italy, Ruffino is a name with some weight behind it. The winery was founded in 1877 by Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, in the city of Pontassieve outside Florence. The family are famed throughout Tuscany and have racked up numerous gold medals over the previous century, ever since their first wine at the Milan Wine Exhibition in 1881. This Prosecco marks the winery’s foray into Northern Italy, utilising top-class Glera grapes from the region of Veneto. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with mouth-puckering dryness. Clean notes of orchard fruits, wisteria and lemon zest shine through, with buttery hints of brioche and nuts. Pure, vibrant acidity provides a through line, leading into a sharp and thirst-quenching finish. Overall, it’s a wonderful, distinctly Mediterranean experience, from one of Italy’s greatest wine houses. Consider pairing this Prosecco with shellfish, chicken, or pizza.
