ABOUT THE PRODUCER. Founded in 1942 by Francisco Casas Gómez, this family-run bodega is now in its fourth generation under Eduardo Casas. The estate farms a little over 10 hectares around the cellar, in a continental climate tempered by the Atlantic and the River Douro. Extreme seasonal shifts and a deep local winemaking heritage (pre-Roman) shape wines that are authentic, vibrant and true to place. The 2023 vintage delivered healthy, ripe fruit with bright natural acidity.. TASTING NOTES – 2023. Deep cherry-red. Juicy red berries and ripe cherry on the nose with a hint of spice. The palate is fresh and supple, showing jammy red fruit, light, silky tannins and well-balanced acidity, finishing dry and clean.. FOOD PAIRING. Spot-on with spiced chorizo, BBQ dishes, grilled pork or lamb, and wild game. Versatile enough for tapas and charcuterie boards.. FRIARWOOD SAYS.
