Product Description
The Basserman-Jordan 2023 Jesuitengarten Riesling Grand Cru dry is a fine and elegant wine with high complexity. It is situated on the outskirts of Forst, in the direct vicinity of Kirchenstück and Ungeheuer, one of the best vineyards in the Palatinate due to its mineral content. The site is famous for its fine and elegant wines. The name goes back to the possessions of the former Jesuit monastery of Neustadt. In 1792 the Jordan family bought the vineyard. The parcel, which is located in the original part of the Jesuitengarten, was selectively harvested to obtain only perfectly ripened grapes. These were gently pressed and vinified separately. 50% of the grapes were vinified in traditional oak, the rest in stainless steel tanks. Both parts were left on the lees after fermentation until bottling. Finely contoured aromas with herbaceous and ethereal notes, combined with a certain smokiness, meet here in the nose. With a little air, the fruity components gain in importance, and these are increased aromas of stone fruit and exotic notes. This wine is available in a 75cl size and is suitable for both men and women.
